What is hit and how does it work?

On the BBC programme, Mosley tries a form of HIT developed by Jamie Timmons, professor of ageing biology at Birmingham University in the UK. In Timmons’ form of HIT, the bursts of high intensity are at maximum effort, but of very short duration (20 seconds at a time).

What ISFiT and why is it important?

It is now used for asymptomatic population-based bowel (cancer) screening and also for the assessment of patients presenting with lower abdominal symptoms, particularly in primary care. FIT provide one investigation that is of significant value in these two very different clinical settings.
